Il medico-filosofo La Mettrie: materialismi, sapere medico, scienze

In the notable season of the 18th century French materialism, the doctor‐ philosopher La Mettrie was at the cutting edge. His materialistic attitude could not be recollected with a systematic setting and his objective remained that of talking about the bonheur of the few. The privileged role that he gave to the medicine and his interest for the other sciences made him an interesting philosopher of the science of his time. Certain discussions were still too attached to the environment in which they were elaborated but instead other ones could be recollected to some “undying” problem of the science
