We present an approach based on parallel computing on graphics processing units using the CUDA language for the evaluation of the Cloude and Pottier decomposition. The computation of eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the 3 3 3 covariance matrix is worked out by exploiting its Hermitian property by a ‘‘Cardano-like,’’ direct analytical scheme. Numerical results show the benefits of the approach.
