The invention relates to the chemistry of natural compounds and medicinal chemistry, in particular to compounds with a prenylated guanidine fragment, which have a wide range of antibacterial and antifungal properties. According to the invention, the use of ent-gomeroylguanidine and ent-13-epigomeroylguanidine as antibacterial and antifungal agents is claimed. The compounds showed high biological activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as against strains of Candida albicans fungi. The use of these compounds as synergistic agents in combination antimicrobial therapy is also claimed.

Abstract
The invention relates to the chemistry of natural compounds and medicinal chemistry, in particular to compounds with a prenylated guanidine fragment, which have a wide range of antibacterial and antifungal properties. According to the invention, the use of ent-gomeroylguanidine and ent-13-epigomeroylguanidine as antibacterial and antifungal agents is claimed. The compounds showed high biological activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as against strains of Candida albicans fungi. The use of these compounds as synergistic agents in combination antimicrobial therapy is also claimed.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
