The Cartabia Reform, in continuity with the emergency regulations in the Covid-19 era, has permanently inserted a general regulation of remote participation in the new Title II-bis of Book II of the Code of Criminal Procedure, with the articles 133-bis and 133-ter. This work intends to first analyze the rules included and, subsequently, reflect on the compatibility of the remote trial with the traditional principles of criminal justice and the possible risks.
