First survey on the tradition of De dictis et factis Alfonsi regis by Panormita · Antonio Beccadelli, known as Panormita, was one of the chief protagonistsin the making of the Monarchical Humanism at the Neapolitan court of Alfonso the Magnanimous (1442-1458). His most ideologically relevant work is certainly the De dictis et factis Alfonsi regis, in four books completed in 1455. At the crossroads between historiography and bi- ography, panegyric and ethical-political speculum, collection of short tales and facetiae, it has extraordinarily contributed to shaping the image of Alfonso, virtuous king and true heir of the ancient emperors. The paper ofers a frst overview of the tradition (manu- scripts and printed editions) of the work, and of its translations.
