Since 1994, the team of the University of Naples “Federico II” has been carrying out archaeological excavations in the Forum of Cumae (Naples, Italy), which have allowed to reconstruct the appearance of this public space, the administrative, judicial, and religious center of the city in Roman times. In these last years, archaeological research has focused on the northern side of the square, articulated by late-Republican age buildings which use the enclosure wall of the square dated in the 3rd century BC as the back side. These buildings have been renovated and monumentalized between the early and the middle Imperial period. This contribution presents the results of excavations conducted in one of the bases found in the porticus N and in the NE corner of a monumental building opened onto this last (building N III), examining stratigraphy and ceramic finds, through which the building interventions recognized in the investigated area have been dated.
