This contribution presents the first results of the excavations conducted by the University of Naples “Federico II” in the Temple of Asclepius in Pompeii (VIII 7, 25). The investigations have begun in 2018 and have involved three areas of the temple, allowing the collection of important new data about the chronology and the phases of the building and the bringing to light of interesting archa-eological deposits which have yielded a considerable amount of ceramic artefacts, dating from the end of the 4th century B.C. to the 1st century AD. Here is presented the study of the pottery from Augustan age deposits found in the room to the north of the temple courtyard, the so-called Caretaker’s room.

Abstract
This contribution presents the first results of the excavations conducted by the University of Naples “Federico II” in the Temple of Asclepius in Pompeii (VIII 7, 25). The investigations have begun in 2018 and have involved three areas of the temple, allowing the collection of important new data about the chronology and the phases of the building and the bringing to light of interesting archa-eological deposits which have yielded a considerable amount of ceramic artefacts, dating from the end of the 4th century B.C. to the 1st century AD. Here is presented the study of the pottery from Augustan age deposits found in the room to the north of the temple courtyard, the so-called Caretaker’s room.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
