Uniform plots. Comparative and Labour Problems in the Legal Culture of Journals at the Beginning of the Twentieth Century

The use of comparative methods in the construction of labour law in the West has a longer history than labour law itself. The comparison of legislation, the circulation of institutional models and the sharing of interpretative paradigms are some of the features of a widespread practice that characterised the legal culture of labour at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. These features have contributed to defining the sources of national law, but also to activating European legal reflection on the hypotheses of constructing an international labour law.The paper deals with these themes, starting from a teoretical point of view, then exploring some European scholars' works and finally using an Italian journal of the early 20th century as a case study.
