1n recent years the relationship between nature and construction has assumed a centrai role in the reinterpretation of the contemporary landscape. The large and increasing number of abandoned and unusable places due to inadeguate soil condi tions has raised new questions in urban design. The architect has to rethink these mainly techni cal issues in the urban discipline in order to incorporate and interpret some "silent transforrnations" necessary to reconfigure fragments of landscape, open new forrns of community and define renewed conditions of urbanity. Through the analysis of some projects ("Agenti Climatici" by the OMA team; "Buckthom City" by West 8; "South Park Plaza at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park" by James Corner Field Operations) we intend to identify possible operational strate gies through processes related to time and "indeterrninacy" for the regeneration and reactivation starting from the surface topography (Walliss and Rahmann, 2016) of fragile areas.

Abstract
1n recent years the relationship between nature and construction has assumed a centrai role in the reinterpretation of the contemporary landscape. The large and increasing number of abandoned and unusable places due to inadeguate soil condi tions has raised new questions in urban design. The architect has to rethink these mainly techni cal issues in the urban discipline in order to incorporate and interpret some "silent transforrnations" necessary to reconfigure fragments of landscape, open new forrns of community and define renewed conditions of urbanity. Through the analysis of some projects ("Agenti Climatici" by the OMA team; "Buckthom City" by West 8; "South Park Plaza at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park" by James Corner Field Operations) we intend to identify possible operational strate gies through processes related to time and "indeterrninacy" for the regeneration and reactivation starting from the surface topography (Walliss and Rahmann, 2016) of fragile areas.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
