No Man’s Land The state of abandonment and decline defining the eastern suburbs of Naples has prompted the Napoli Est(ra)moenia research project to explore new ways of transforming public space. The methodology investigates the possibility of triggering new actions capable of re-signifying the multitude of marginal and liminal spaces through the tool of the “design workshop”, verifying some procedural innovations. The proposed sequence of discrete and incremental actions becomes a basis that can support proposals for the regeneration of peripheral areas in similar contexts, offering a set of best practices that regulate transformation processes.

Abstract
No Man’s Land The state of abandonment and decline defining the eastern suburbs of Naples has prompted the Napoli Est(ra)moenia research project to explore new ways of transforming public space. The methodology investigates the possibility of triggering new actions capable of re-signifying the multitude of marginal and liminal spaces through the tool of the “design workshop”, verifying some procedural innovations. The proposed sequence of discrete and incremental actions becomes a basis that can support proposals for the regeneration of peripheral areas in similar contexts, offering a set of best practices that regulate transformation processes.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
