Floristic data about Campania (Southern Italy) from field, herbaria and literature researches are here presented. The following new or unpublished indigenous entities for the region are indicated: Colchicum cupanii Guss., Cota tinctoria (L.) J. Gay subsp. australis (R. Fern.) Oberpr. & Greuter, Dryopteris borreri (Newman) Newman ex Oberh. & Tavel and Euphorbia nicaeensis All. subsp. japygica (Ten.) Arcang. (the systematic value of this latter entity is however doubtful). Among the exotic entities, Chenopodium pumilio R. Br. resulted a new naturalized xenophyte, while Pistia stratiotes L. is to be considered by now only a new casual alien. 19 entities are confirmed for the regional flora, and among them Trifolium subterraneum L. subsp. oxaloides Nyman, which did not appear for Campania in the recent floristic compendia. However, at the actual state of knowledge, 2 species are proposed to be excluded from the regional flora (Ipomoea nil [L.] Roth, Meum athamanticum Jacq.). In addition, a few herbaria samples are published in order to document ancient indications of very local plants. Besides, new or confirmed localities of locally rare entities are provided. Finally, miscellaneous notes, such as doubtful or erroneous records and interesting but neglected literature data are presented.
