The analysis and study of a narrative linked to work is useful for pedagogical research to understand the different work dynamics and to better interpret the ‘topoi’ linked to the worker. Reading some contemporary Italian novels that describe precarious work stories offers pedagogy an opportunity to reflect on the value of work and its being an instrument of emancipation and development, not only of the individual subject, but of the whole community.
