The article analyses the catering services in in Italian system of public procurement. The article n. 144 of Italian Code of public contracts is analysed. The article focuses the topics of food-stamps and the public procurement rules on school catering services and the school canteens. Inparticular, the student’ right to homemade food and the opportunities to promote the implementation of local food purchase. Finally, the article provides an overview of the catering services in the draft of new Italian code of public procurement
