Il discorso riportato nella Summa di Lupo de Spechio e la politica linguistica aragonese

The present paper aims at investigating the ways Lupo de Specho uses to report quotations in his Summa: it questions if code-switching among the varieties of his plurilingual repertoire (Catalan, Latin and Neapolitan) represents the strategy to insert reported speech in his chronicle. The aim of the paper is to investigate the codeswitching patterns in order to verify if and to what extend they can reveal the perception of assimilation by Lupo and by the Court.
