L’idea di Filosofia pratica universale ed il sistema enciclopedico wolffiano

This essay analyses the concept of Philosophia practica universalis, namely the science, which in Wolff’s encyclopaedic system constitutes the foundation of all other practical disciplines, such as the Jus naturae and the Jus Gentium, the Philosophia moralis, the Oeconomica and the Philosophia civilis. In particular, the idea of Philosophia practica universalis is examined in the light of the categories of sapientia, prudentia and ordo. The latter, together with veritas and perfectio, is one of the transcendental predicates of being. This essay closes with the first Italian translation of the Prolegomena to the 1738 edition of Philosophia practica universalis, methodo scientifica pertractata.
