We discuss some preliminary results of our ongoing efforts to implement a new generation of data mining tools, largely based on neural networks and specifically tailored to work in a distributed computing environment. These tools have been applied to the Sloan Digital Sky Survey public dataset to produce a 3-D map of the galaxy distribution in the nearby universe.

Abstract
We discuss some preliminary results of our ongoing efforts to implement a new generation of data mining tools, largely based on neural networks and specifically tailored to work in a distributed computing environment. These tools have been applied to the Sloan Digital Sky Survey public dataset to produce a 3-D map of the galaxy distribution in the nearby universe.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
