The Amalfi Coast terraces, declared as a cultural landscape in 1997, are representative of the local culture, tradition and technique. The particular construction characteristics and morphological peculiarities of the territory, together with the phenomena of hydrogeological instability, have raised the alarm about how to approach their maintenance, which cannot and must not follow the paths of ordinary constructions. The present work proposes itself as a declaration of intent to investigate the techniques and the potentialities of the use of volcanic materials with pozzolanic activity characterizing the territory of the Amalfi Coast, as raw material for the production of mixtures of alkali activated materials finalized to the recovery and maintenance of dry-stone walls. This kind of proposal allows us to keep close to traditional techniques, while using an innovative and eco-compatible approach.
