The method proposed by Caccin et al (1981a, b) is applied to derive the radii of thirty cepheids observed, in the Walraven VBLUW photometric system, by Pel (1976). It is found that these new determinations match the theoretical radius-period relation (Cogan, 1978), as never found before. The masses of 16 of them, for which Q-values are available from Cox (1979), are also computed; the discrepancy with theoretical masses is removed without resorting to inhomogeneous composition models of the envelope.

Abstract
The method proposed by Caccin et al (1981a, b) is applied to derive the radii of thirty cepheids observed, in the Walraven VBLUW photometric system, by Pel (1976). It is found that these new determinations match the theoretical radius-period relation (Cogan, 1978), as never found before. The masses of 16 of them, for which Q-values are available from Cox (1979), are also computed; the discrepancy with theoretical masses is removed without resorting to inhomogeneous composition models of the envelope.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
