The paper deals with the proposal of a model strategy for implementing the environmental management of urban coastal areas through a set of indicators of the urban environmental performances. The model strategy aims at providing effective tools for planning and managing the coastal habitat specific, focusing both on the ecosystem services and the urban performances. The study starts from the two years experience of EU project aimed at assessing the opportunities of applying EMAS Regulation on the environmental management of urban coastal areas (INTERREG IIIB - ARCHIMED -Med.COAST.Net 2007-2008). The case study is the area of Punta del Capo in the Sorrento Municipality (NA). The outcomes of the study is create first test of the model management in order to be replicable and adaptive to other similar contexts. Further the model aims at developing social cooperation between private and public bodies to increase local economy and the value of the urban space.
