This essay analyses Wolff ’s criticism of the concept of revenge. Moving from the Pfichtenlehre of the Slesian philosopher, the work tries to underline the irrationality of this institute through the reconstruction of the wrong psychological process that gives birth to the cupiditas vindictae. It will also underline the nature of the officium hominis circa injurias through the Christian principle, which invites the man to turn the other cheek.
