In this paper a loss analysis of Dual Active Bridge DC-DC converter is performed. The circuit is conceived for DC Electrical Power Distribution System on aircraft, so leading to a 28V/270V system, whose operation in phase shift modulation is discussed. In particular, the paper proposes a comparison, in terms of power losses, among different wide band-gap commercial devices by means of thermal models suitable for accurate simulations in PLECS® environment. Numerical results highlight the impact of conduction and switching losses on system performance in terms of power density and safe operation.
