In these proceedings, we summarize the effects of Dark Matter (DM) annihilation on the Recombination and Reionization history of the Universe, and how such effects can be used to constrain DM properties, thus constituting an independent, additional tool to other indirect detection probes. We present an overview of current state-of-the-art results.
