La meravigliosa struttura dell'"altrimenti". Una lettura del "Parmenide" di Platone

the Wondrous structure of the “otherwise”. A reading of Plato’s Parmenides. The essay puts forth a reading of Plato’s Parmenides which is at odds with those interpretations viewing the dialogue as a dialectical defeat of the young Socrates. Furthermore, it shows how the text seems to be scattered with clues hitting at the inconsistency of Parmenides’ objections to the theory of Forms. Some elements can be stemmed from the analysis of the arguments and from the dramatic structure of the dialogue, together with the evaluation of the links that the dialogue forges with other dialogues of the corpus platonicum. These elements underpin the overall interpretation which conceives the dialogue as a whole on the basis of a tight connection between the first and the second part of it.
