L'emozione dà a intendere. Intorno a "Il sospiro" di Erwin Straus

In this introduction I locate Straus’ essay on the sigh in the context of his work. The paper can also be read as a profile of Straus as a phenomenological psychologist and philosopher who reveals some affinities with authors such as Helmuth Plessner. Together with Lebensphilosophie and philosophical anthropology, Straus focuses on lived corporeity as a key to overcoming the Cartesian dualism in psychological sciences. For Straus, psychology must get rid of metaphysics and focus on lived experience. Starting from this conception, I try to point out the connections with humanistic psychology and the contemporary phenomenology of corporeity.
