We present different interpretations of Near-Field/Far-Field transformations based on the Singular Value Optimization (SVO) approach that correspond to different objective functionals to handle the singular value behavior of the relevant operator. Shannon number, information theory and Fisher information help giving the different perspectives. Numerical results show that the different interpretations show the same performance, as expected.

Abstract

We present different interpretations of Near-Field/Far-Field transformations based on the Singular Value Optimization (SVO) approach that correspond to different objective functionals to handle the singular value behavior of the relevant operator. Shannon number, information theory and Fisher information help giving the different perspectives. Numerical results show that the different interpretations show the same performance, as expected.
