The library of the Botanical garden of Naples, italy, dates back to the beginnings of nineteenth century. it was originally formed by books belonging to Michele Tenore (1780-1861), first director of the Botanical garden. today, the library has about 19,000 books, many of which ancient and including sixteenth-century editions and Incunabula. after two centuries from its foundation, the library continues to perform its function, making available, in addition to ancient books, modern journals of botany and related sciences. the over the centuries, however, has caused damage to some volumes and in recent years a program for the restoration work was started. also, digital edition and reissue of some volumes are in progress in order to make available the heritage of books of the library. Some of ancient and priceless books undergoing restoration works and digitization are described.

Abstract
