The Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) represent an increasing problem in Public Healthcare. The national and international literature shows that the colonization of the anatomic site is an index of a possible HAI. The present work focuses on the application of Six Sigma methodology to the healthcare processes of A.O.U. "Federico II" for the management of the colonization. The results of this study consist in the individuation of the external risk-factors that affect the chance of colonization and, on these basis, design some indications to be received by the organization in order to improve its management of the colonization and of the HAI.

Abstract
The Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) represent an increasing problem in Public Healthcare. The national and international literature shows that the colonization of the anatomic site is an index of a possible HAI. The present work focuses on the application of Six Sigma methodology to the healthcare processes of A.O.U. "Federico II" for the management of the colonization. The results of this study consist in the individuation of the external risk-factors that affect the chance of colonization and, on these basis, design some indications to be received by the organization in order to improve its management of the colonization and of the HAI.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
