Abstract

The deep transformations of the built environment, which is affected by multiple pressures, require to safeguard and improve over time the “values” of urban systems, restoring their qualities. The book illustrates the results of the research “Scheduling maintenance”, held as part of the Network of Social Project of Historic Centres Entities. The comparison with recent research experiences in the field of building and urban recovery and maintenance highlights the need to develop new strategies for managing heritage buildings. The research presented in this volume suggest a systemic approach to the enhancement of the built environment, founded on the development of competence networks, allowing to act synergistically on the transformation dynamics of the territory. The results represent a replicable model, able to support the operators involved in the recovery and maintenance of the built heritage, in an effective and innovative management process.
