Atenei, dipartimenti e territorio

We first performed a survey of the History of Architecture studies: the number of personnel and the scientific productivity of the different departments were compared and related to their respective territories. The numerical data obtained were compared with quality data, which emerged from the VQR (Research Quality Assessment). Finally, we tried to analyze the different time frames investigated in the History of architecture studies in four large categories, Ancient, Middle Ages, Modern and Contemporary, well aware that this temporal division is an artifice related to historiography. The aim has been to obtain a first report on a very complex topic about the studies on the History of architecture, that are part of the basic sciences, and have been considerably penalized by research funding of these years.
