In this paper we present BTT-SCAN a tool to evaluate the Unilateral Spatial Neglect (USN), a disorder that compromises the ability to explore one side of the space. This tool, technology enhanced, is based on an ecological test for the evaluation of the USN called the Baking Tray Task (BTT) and differs for the possibility of making the assessment procedure more informative. In the present work an exploratory study is also carried out using BTT-SCAN to investigate whether exist, among the healthy participants, preferences regarding the exploration of the space.

Abstract

In this paper we present BTT-SCAN a tool to evaluate the Unilateral Spatial Neglect (USN), a disorder that compromises the ability to explore one side of the space. This tool, technology enhanced, is based on an ecological test for the evaluation of the USN called the Baking Tray Task (BTT) and differs for the possibility of making the assessment procedure more informative. In the present work an exploratory study is also carried out using BTT-SCAN to investigate whether exist, among the healthy participants, preferences regarding the exploration of the space.
