Abstract
In several places of his works, Campanella shows his acquaintance with astronomical issues and the various proposals put forword by astronomers in order to provide a consistent description of celestial motions. This knowledge becomes the instrument for an apocalyptic view that restricts the role of astronomy to the announcement of the impending end of the world: the anomalies observed in the sky are seen as God's intervention in nature, and they are interpreted as signs of the next sun falling to the earth.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
