Augusto Graziani e il marxismo

Augusto Graziani and Marxism · This essay aims to provide a critical reconstruction of the way in which Augusto Graziani interpreted Marx’s thought. Starting from the critical revision of Piero Sraffa and Claudio Napoleoni, at the center of the debate on Marxism between 1960 and 1990, it will be highlighted: i) how Graziani provides an extremely original view of the Marxian value theory, especially in the article Let us rehabilitate the theory of value («L’Unità», February 27, 1983); ii) how it uses the Marxian category of capital to develop a monetary circuit theory based on exclusive access to bank credit, iii) as, at the same time, its attempting to insert Marxian categories in a different theoretical context is susceptible to logical criticism. In this last aspect, emphasis will be placed on the analytical difficulties deriving from the determination of the subsistence salary, and consequently the rate of surp lus value in a circuitist context with anticipation of monetary wages and endogenous money supply.
