In this paper we deal with some ¯nite-time control problems for discrete- time, time-varying linear systems. First we provide necessary and su±cient con- ditions for ¯nite-time stability; these conditions require either the computation of the state transition matrix of the system or the solution of a certain di®erence Lyapunov inequality. Then we address the design problem. The proposed condi- tions allow to ¯nd state feedback and output feedback controllers which stabilizes the closed loop system in the ¯nite-time sense.
