The competition for the construction of a staircase leading to the bell tower of the Basilica of Santa Chiara in Naples was published with the aim of ensuring a new use of a pre-existence of great historical and artistic value, characterized by a complex spatial organization. The presented project interprets the design of the access to the tower structure as an opportunity to reclaim the space around it. In line with the notice of competition, the new architecture is intended to mend the tear generated over the years by numerous interventions of modification and restoration that have characterized the monastic complex.

The presented project interprets the design of the access to the tower structure as an opportunity to reclaim the space around it. In line with the notice of competition, the new architecture is intended to mend the tear generated over the years by numerous interventions of modification and restoration that have characterized the monastic complex.
