The work aims to define a use of golden power capable of reconciling the preservation of general interests, according to a logic of sectoral strategicity, with the need to accelerate and increase the adoption of new sustainable and responsible corporate and investment policies. In the direction indicated, it is believed that the government’s special powers could prove to be one of the most congenial tools for conveying new sensitivities in the industrial policy of the near future. In a delicate geopolitical phase like the current one, proof of this is the growing centrality of the role assumed by golden power, accentuated by factors such as the covid-19 pandemic and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Evalueting the effects, even if only potential, of such radical changes on market regulation allows both to promote alignment between business and community interests and to make the most recent developments of golden powers functional to the pursuit of the aforementioned values.
