Abstract

The tall buildings of Rimini riviera were built as an alternative to the traditional holiday house model, and stand today as the witnesses of our ever changing reality. They gave a theme to the investigation field, to the open questions, to the possible interpretations for a research that goes beyond a mere restoration intervention, in a constant exchange between architecture and landscape, singularity and complexity. The idea of a research upon tall buildings springs from a conscious process that, starting from the observation of some basic thematic conditions, tries to trigger a reflection upon the preservation and the reclamation of a system of spaces and relations, starting from the travel, dwelling and tourism dimension, figuring the transformation of Territories and Cities.
