The volume clusters selected papers from the linguistic section of the XXVII AIA Conference on Transnational Subjects: Linguistic, Literary and Cultural (Naples 10-12 September 2015). It focuses on the encounters with other languages and values that alter previously stable and unified notions of identity, language and dialogic exchange. The authors of the volume present authentic perspectives, deal with theories and practices, use diversified procedures, investigate and compare text genres different in nature, and offer quantitative and qualitative analyses of spoken/written data to focus on English in its contemporary intercultural, intertextual, transnational, and multidimensional domains. Scholars, researchers, doctoral students, teachers, and language students will gain insight into the multifaceted realities of contemporary English that the volume addresses.
