We construct an explicit nilpotent extended BRST/anti-BRST algebra for the Freedman-Townsend model, through a change of basis of the fields and a corresponding deformation of the algebra of the Abelian two-form theory. We also discuss the elimination of some auxiliary fields from the gauge-fixed action and make a comparison with the extended Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism.
