Un nuovo referendum in Scozia tra hard Brexit e nodi della integrazione europea

This paper explores the recent Scottish events, especially in relation to the European integration process. Firstly, it describes the main aspects of Nicola Sturgeon’s announcement con- cerning the possibility of a second referendum on independence. In addition, it comments briefly on the following matters: the idea of automatic accession to the EU; the democratic legitimacy of the choices related to Brexit; the relationship between the secession claims and the European integra- tion process; the possibility that an independent Scotland chooses a different form of affiliation with the EU.
