Il palazzo delle donne sole. Dinamiche urbane in un condominio napoletano.

Da un'analisi di tipo etnografico sulla storia delle presenze in tutte le abitazioni del palazzo dagli anni Quaranta del Novecento al 2015 l'autore desume una serie di caratteri delle dinamiche di divisione sociale dello spazio e di uso del patrimonio edilizio che costituiscono delle peculiarità del contesto della città meridionale, differente da quelle individuate per le città statunitensi o del nord europa di cui spesso si occupa la letteratura. The paper recounts the story of the last 70 years of a building in Napoli’s historic center. Its main sources are interviews and the author’s memories. With storytelling, some broader features of the context also come along in the paper: the diversity of housing forms, including low income households; the widespread fragmentation of property; the presence of institutions that, even when managing a limited housing stock, have protected the right to housing of weak groups with limited access to the market; the penchant of households to settle in; the lack of real estate investments on historic housing; the presence of migrants. All these structuring factors allow to outline a slow but constant transformation of a context, that cannot be understood using mainstream categories like gentrification, polarization or segregation that do not catch the specificity of southern European cities.
