This paper pursues two interrelated goals: on the one hand, it endeavours to marshal some interpretive perspectives through which we can account for the pivotal role that over decades Lipman’s and Sharp’s Philosophy for Children has been playing in the field of philosophical inquiry with children; on the other hand, it pinpoints the significance that the ‘care of the method’ has within P4C and illustrates it also by drawing upon some views from the philosophy of science.
