Hydrogen (H2) production by Thermotoga neapolitana fermentation was modeled by modified Gompertz equation. The H2 production under three different working pH conditions were simulated to know the cumulative H2 production potential, maximum H2 production rate and duration of lag phase. The quality of fitting between measured and simulated H2 production was evaluated by correlation coefficient (R2), found to be > 0.97 for all conditions. The results show that the highest H2 production achieved at working pH of 6.5 whereas lower values were obtained when the pH is below or above 6.5.
