The difficulty of maintaining a high force of attraction on the international markets requires Italy to intercept tourist flows attracted by historical architectural resources, by mega events and by the quality of food and wine. In particular, the latter are considered as factors characterizing the tourist offer of Campania and generating significant economic effects, since the tendency of the local culture to assert its originality and to implement communication and development strategies in order to increase the competitiveness of the food and wine local system. In this direction, Expo Milano 2015 may be an important opportunity to appreciate the tradition and quality of excellence of Campania and to promote the internationalization of the supply. The aim of the study is to verify the potential of tourism development of traditional products, since food and wine are some of the basic items of our history and expression of some messages of Expo Milano 2015: universality, creativity and conviviality.

Abstract
