A case of a 77-old woman with a melanoma of soft parts is reported. The blue-greyish nodule, 4 cm in diameter, had a smooth and regular skin surface. The microscopic picture showed the presence in the dermis of atypical round or spindle-shaped cells with clear cytoplasm and vescicular nuclei and also the presence of melanin. The detection of S-100 protein was positive. The patient died 8 months after the surgical excision of the nodule. The autoptic findings showed several cerebral metastases with same histologic characteristics of the primary tumor.
