As is well known, one of the main obstacles to the spread and growth of producer co-operatives is the difficulty of both short- and long-term financing. This problem can be solved through group policies, by creating the assumptions for a collaboration between labour and capital. In this regard, the Spanish group of Mondragón co-operatives may set an example for other groups to follow, because it has implemented innovative organisational arrangements that can safeguard its financial intermediary and external providers of funds.
