Examining the textual transmission of PNess. ii 1 implies a new reflection concerning the variant fractis at l. 979. this is one of the variae lectiones at Verg. Aen. 4, 476 (together with lictis, factis, dictis) and, regardless of its ecdotic value, it has to be driven in the same codicologial tradition which knew the variant fictis, that we can read in the Vergilian Ausonensis and in some recentiores.
