We propose an approach for the optimal sensor number and placement in an imaging system. The method recasts the reconstruction of the target from the field data as a finite dimensional algebraic linear inverse problem. The number and the positions are optimally determined by optimizing the singular value behavior of the matrix defining the relevant linear operator. Numerical and experimental results are used to assess the performance of the method.

Abstract
We propose an approach for the optimal sensor number and placement in an imaging system. The method recasts the reconstruction of the target from the field data as a finite dimensional algebraic linear inverse problem. The number and the positions are optimally determined by optimizing the singular value behavior of the matrix defining the relevant linear operator. Numerical and experimental results are used to assess the performance of the method.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
