The earthen architecture and standard requirements

In Italy, like in most part of the world, the earthen construction is widely spread as a poor resource, not the same there are written codes of practice; the regulatory landscape is very fragmented because it is largely made up of address documents without any character of standard, mostly referred at specific aspects of earth construction. The research conducted on the production of normative texts for the construction and conservation of the earthen buildings returned a very fragmented landscape both for the techniques considered that for the level of detail with which they are treated. Over the past ten years it has seen a significant increase in the sector of the standard production also linked to the growing environmental crisis that has produced a renewed interest in low-impact construction techniques.
