The article focuses on the use of fiber-reinforced cementitious matrix (FRCM) composites for the concrete and masonry repair industry. It outlines the two key components of FRCM, namely, the cementitious matrix and the fiber network. It cites several projects in which FRCM composites have been used including the strengthening of unreinforced concrete bridge along the Rome-Formia-Naples railway in Italy and the strengthening of a reinforced concrete bridge pier in Novosibirsk, Russia.
