Since the early 20th century, the photography, cinematography and a new type of graphic had gradually replaced the traditional ways of landscape and city’s representation, spreading new significant and documentary prospect of expression that had also change the landscape’s perception. The Sorrento-amalfitan coast represented since two century a model of balanced relationship between natural landscape and building heritage, representing the icon of the natural beauty highly specific, whom men’s reacted, since the middle of next century, with an use of territory for agricultural goals, such as the terraced cultivation, and the building settlement adapting to the local features. The proposed paper aims to analyze how this features has been represented, contributing to create the touristic and landscaping myth of one of the most natural famous land of the world. The research will be focused on the iconographic representation of Sorrento-amalfitan coast through the ’90 century, during which the relationship between nature and buildings landscape, balanced since that moment, was strongly modified by an incorrect touristic development of the area. In this way, the photography and cinematography, which allow an objective, tridimensional, dynamic and wide way of representation of the landscape, had increase the possibility of providing the transformations, spreading the knowledge and the future prospect for the preservation, the protection and the enhancement of the area.
